PROFESSOR S. L. FRANKFURT AND HIS WORK IN THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE UNR

Abstract
The article investigates the activities of S. L. of Frankfurt in the state bodies of management of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. It provides the information about the achievements of S. L. Frankfurt as a scientist of agrobiology. After the overthrow of the monarchy in Russia in 1917, the Professor was elected to the Council of United public organizations as a representative of the Jewish population. The political affiliation of S. L. Frankfurt to the party of national freedom (cadets) is listed. On the basis of archival data that reveals the activities of the scientist in the governments of the UPR. The work of S. L. Frankfurt was outlined as a diplomatic representative from the government of the UNR at the time of signing economic and trade agreement with Austria-Hungary. There was also characterized the complexity of the implementation of the Ukrainian trade-economic mission to the Rich Pospolita and participation of scientist in it. During the conference the Baltic States held in Riga and was designed to resolve economic issues, S. L. in Frankfurt became part of the Economic Council as the representative of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. There was pointed on the achievement of a scientist as head of the economic section of the Ukrainian state. He took part in the developing of the Political article of the Convention between the UPR and the Baltic States on the withdrawal of special duties on goods in commercial transactions.
