PROFESSORIAL STYLE AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE UNIVERSITY CITIES OF RUSSIAN EMPIRE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY

Abstract

The paper characterizes some features of the professorial life style on the materials of Russian universities in the first half of the 19th century. Author concludes that, taken together, professional and recreational practices of university professors had a significant impact on the quality of life in the university cities.
