Abstract
The discipline “Theoretical and methodological foundations of professional education” refers to the list of subjects graduate of free choice. It gives a modern advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge of vocational education. We consider the stages of historical development of vocational education, the main basic concepts, structure, methodological approaches, principles, methods, patterns of vocational education. Special attention is given to the use of learning methods, means and forms of education to solve typical teaching situations
