PROGRAMS FOR ATRIBUTION AND FOR VIEWING PHOTOCOPIES OF A COLLECTION OF PORTRAITS

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of digitization and attribution of portraits in archive collections. The principal example is the collection of portraits from the Moscow Society of Naturalists archives. Special software is developed for accumulation, editing, and searching for data concerning the persons portrayed; the first and last names can be handled in both native and Russified spelling. All software is developed as web-applications to be called from the browser, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the Internet access to the database.
