Prostate cancer screening due to early detection in 21st century

Abstract
Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most importanrt epidemiologic problems in many countries. The discussion concerning legitimacy of screening aiming at early detection of PCa is conducted for many years. It has been revived since wide spread introduction of PSA at the beginning of 90’s, XX century. Prostate cancer mortality in USA is declining systematically so far. There are few randomized trials regarding prostate cancer screening published in recent years. Their results and their role are discussed in the paper.
