PUBLIC SPACE OF UKRAINIAN CITIES IN THE SYSTEM OF A GLOBALIZED WORLD

Abstract
The article analyzes the main provisions of the Report to the Roman Club “Come On! Capitalism, Shortterm, Population and Destruction of the Planet”. Taking into account certain basic requirements, approaches to the conceptualization of urban public space in the processes of solving problems of the globalized world are substantiated. The interpretation of urban public space as a complementary, functional role of which involves balancing the opposite vectors of activity, thoughts, interests, goals and values is proposed. It is established that the urban public space is an instrument for forming the preconditions for establishing the balance of opposites, which is determined by the priority of the modern stage of planetary development. Based on the analysis of the regulatory framework, the expediency of consolidating the concept of “urban public space” and the main principles of its creation and formation in the Statutes of territorial communities, as described by the Kyiv city, is substantiated.
