QUARTZ CRYSTAL MICROBALANCE: NANO-SENSOR FOR CYANIDE DETECTION
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2012, Vol 19, Issue 2
Abstract
The extremely high level of potassium cyanide toxicity makes its effects to be important even in low concentrations. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) allows the determination of these values due to the high sensitivity of resonant crystal frequency. The sensitivity of the method increases with the alkaline pH values and for this reason in this study it has used two sets of solutions with pH 9 and 12. The obtained experimental results lead to the conclusion that the QCM method can be successfully used to obtain an accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis of cyanides in drinking water in real time.

THE PROBABILISTIC STABILITY FOR THE GAMMA FUNCTIONAL EQUATION
We obtain a stability result for the Baker functional equation, in the setting of probabilistic quasi-metric spaces. As a particular case, we discuss the probabilistic stability of the Gamma functional equation.

STRUCTURAL HARDENING MECHANISM OF LEAD-CADIUM-CALCIUM-TIN-SILVER ALLOYS FOR BATTERY GRIDS
The reequilibration of supersatured Pb-Ca-Cd-Sn-Ag alloys was studied by several experimental methods: hardness measurements, optical and electron microscopy, electron microprobe. Two structural states were considered; a...
SOME MODELS OF DISSIPATIVE PROCESSES IN PHASE TRANSFORMATIONS ON A WIDE RANGE OF TEMPERATURES
The phase transitions in solid materials (called solid-solid transformations) are connected with the thermo dynamical processes with hysteresis, leading to the dissipative models. Obvious, the liquid-solid transitions ar...
