Radiation safety and protection of textile workers:Radiological diagnostic área

Abstract

Nuclear medicine presents many benefits for the diagnosis of multiple diseases, constituting at the same time a risk for workers in that area and patients who attend frequently, that is why this study aimed to carry out a study on the radiation safety and protection of workers of a textile company in the area of radiodiagnosis. Field research with a descriptive level, being its population the personnel that works in the area of production and the service of radiodiagnosis, the sample was made up of 75 production workers and 5 of said medical area. As a data collection technique we used the survey and its instrument the questionnaire, as a technique of analysis was the hermeneutic statistical study. Among the results, the interviewees responded in 51% that radiodiagnostic studies are always performed, while 28% of those consulted indicated that radiodiagnostic studies are rarely performed. Concluding with the need to increase occupational safety measures, to personnel working in the area of radiodiagnosis, to comply with the different radiological safety protocols, before exposure to the effects of X-rays, Gamma that these generate
