Recognition of Weave Patterns of Striped Fabrics Using Optical Coherence Tomography
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2018, Vol 26, Issue 3
Abstract
The recognition of woven fabric repeat by conventional techniques is labour intensive. In general, woven fabric repeat identification is accomplished automatically by employing complex algorithms and techniques. These algorithms may, however, occasionally fail, especially when dealing with high complexity texture patterns, structures, figures and colours. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has the capability of taking high resolution images via contactless measurements. In this paper we apply the spectral domain optical coherence tomography imaging technique for identifying striped woven fabric repeat automatically. OCT scans corresponding to four different fabrics, from which the weave matrixes were recognised, are reported in this study. Automatic identification of weave patterns of striped fabrics was accomplished non-destructively by employing optical coherence tomography.

Removal of Azo Dye Acid Red 27 from Aqueous Solutions Using Classical and Modified Fenton Reagent with Zero-Valent Iron
The article compares the classic Fenton reagent (Fe2+/H2O2) with its modification with zero-valent iron (ZVI/H2O2) to remove azo dye Acid Red 27 from aqueous solutions at a concentration of 100 mg/L. For both methods, th...
Detection of Warp Elongation in Satin Woven Cotton Fabrics Using Image Processing
In this study, warp elongations in a satin fabric were detected using image processing to reduce yarn breakage during weaving. It was aimed to increase the productivity of the weaving looms. In this work, a high sensitiv...
Effects of the Vacuum Moulding Process on the Mechanical Properties of Cotton/Epoxy Composite
A study on the effect of the vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding (VARTM) manufacturing process on the mechanical properties of cotton/epoxy composite is presented in this investigation. Woven cotton was used as reinf...
Comparative Safety Testing (acute systemic toxicity in mice) of Two Materials Prepared from Polypropylene-Polyester (Codubix S) or Acrylate Resin (Mendec Cranio) Used for the Manufacturing of a Calvaria Prosthesis
The aim of the study was a comparison of the acute toxicity of two popular prostheses used in the reconstruction of the bones of the skull. For the tests, the following materials were used: a polypropylene-polyester knit...
Country-Specific Determinants of Intra-Industry Trade in Clothing and Footwear between Poland and European Union Countries
The present study investigated the country-specific determinants of intra-industry trade between Poland and its European Union trading partners in clothing and footwear during the time period 2004–2017. The econometric...
