Turkish labor markets are characterizable by an unexplained phenomenon of low female labor force participation. The rate of this particular phenomenon belongs to lowest ones worldwide. Also, the trend of the female labor force is on decline, adding further layer of importance to the need for its explanation. The study based upon primary data collected in microfinance portfolios in suburbs of Ankara tries to offer an illumination searching for contingent combinations of data related to responses of microfinance clients, with a special focus on experience as well as religion related factor, examining the validity of the Under-participation trap hypothesis.
