REMOTE EDUCATION AS A MEANS OF PROFESSIONAL SELF-EMPLOYMENT OF STUDENTS IN US HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract
In this article an overview of distance learning as a means of professional self-realization of students of US higher educational institutions was reviewed. Features and technologies of US distance education are described. Reasons for the emergence of distance education are specified. The emphasis was placed on the types and forms of distance learning. US consortia for distance learning are described. Distance learning advantages are discovered.
