RENDERING OF ARTISTIC TIME AND SPACE IN A LITERARY TEXT (BASED UPON UKRAINIAN TRANSLATION OF HORROR NOVELS)

Abstract
The article discusses the peculiarities of chronotop markers’ rendering in horror novels. Basically, the attention is paid to the topos of a castle, a house, etc.; interior and exterior descriptions; landscape descriptions; overwhelming amount of temporal indicators. It has been found out that time and space markers play an important genre forming role as temporality and localness are considered to be the basis of a genre. One of the main components of chronotop adequate rendering is the precise translation of all details. Analysis of the factual material has shown that translators use stylistic equivalents, stylistic weakening and stylistic intensification.
