Research to study Variable Frequency Drive and its Energy Savings
Journal Title: International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR) - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 6
Abstract
This paper presents the working principle of Variable Frequency Drive. The performance of VFD is also described. The simulation model is simulated using MATLAB Simulink and their results are also analyzed. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in waveforms is also analyzed. The use of Variable Frequency Drive has been increased dramatically in the field of HVAC applications. The common applications of VFDs are in air handler, chiller, pumps and tower fans. A better understanding of Variable Frequency Drives with leads to improve in application and selection of both equipment and HVAC system. This paper is intended to provide a basic understanding of VFD terms, VFD operations and Power Factor improvement, Harmonics mitigation by VFD and a simulation project to show how VFD is beneficial for energy savings. In addition to this paper will discuss the comparison between Variable Frequency Drives and other technologies with respect to industrial standards
Gamma Sterilization of Health Care Products and Its Efficacy
Different single-use health care products were irradiated with different doses. For irradiation of the products was used the GU-3 gamma irradiator (with Cs-137) installed in the Institute of Applied Nuclear Physics in Ti...
Enhanced Bioavailability of Sparsely Soluble PAHs
Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are organic pollutants of concern because of the health hazards they promote. In the present work, a bacterial isolate from crude oil was found to promote enhanced bioavailability of two...
Policy Implementation of Electronic Identity Card (e-ID) in Cimahi City, West Java Province, Indonesia
The main problem in this research is the implementation of an electronic identity card (e-ID) in Cimahi City who have not succeeded in achieving its objectives. The method used in this study was a descriptive study with...
Lifespan of One Shape Files used in Severely Curved Canals in Resin Blocks and Extracted Teeth
The investigation traced the lifespan of One Shape files used in severely curved canals of resin blocks and extracted teeth. One hundred canals were shaped and all instruments worked till their fracture. The average life...
Comparative Effects of Organic and Plastic Mulches on the Environment, Growth and Yield of Okra in A Derived Savanna Zone of Nigeria
The effectiveness of grass and black plastic mulches in modulating the environment, growth and yield of okra was compared in field experiments as the rainy season was winding up in Abakaliki, a derived savanna zone of So...
