Research Trends in Field of Library and Information Science: A Case Study of DLIS Aligarh Muslim University through Shodhganga Repository

Abstract
This study investigates and identifies research trends of the Ph.D. theses for the past nineteen years at DLIS, AMU. The study also investigated features and characteristics of Ph.D. scholar’s theses. A total of 91 theses submitted from 1998 to 2016, by the university, were analyzed. In this study we find out the data from the shodhganga portal of Inflibnet. This study also presents the trends of Ph.D. thesis of DLIS, AMU. In this paper we try to find out the year-wise distribution, prolific status, length of pages, medium of language of thesis library and Information science research field with the data 91 Ph.D. thesis collected from the Shodhganga portal from 1998-2016. This paper caters the maximum thesis 20.98% are submitted in the year 2009.
