Abstract

Risk management in a project is one of most important factors of its successful achievement of goals. Usually it is applied to the “hard aspects” of a project, such as time, cost and quality. Risk management in a project concerning human aspects is neglected, in spite of the fact that human beings are responsible for 80% of project success. This work is an attempt to partially fill this gap. Three phenomena are resistance to changes, conflicts and crisis in a project, connected with each other by certain cause and effect relations. The manifestation of each of them means a serious problem for project success, being a risk at the same time. Resistance as aversion to execute project tasks results in missing deadlines and a drop in quality. Conflict generates similar results: team members waste their time on redundant discussions. Finally, crisis as an exceptional situation creates a necessity to work under the pressure of time and supervisors, thus facilitating making mistakes. In this article the main factors of these three risks are pre-sented, as well as the ways of dealing with them. Finally, an attempt has been made to manage this triad.
