Risk appetite as an important element of Solvency II framework

Abstract
The paper presents a risk appetite framework in the insurance sector. In the first part, the definition is given as well as the importance of the risk appetite is underlined, especially in context of the Solvency II Directive implementation. The second section discusses the risk appetite framework, supporting the theory with several examples.
