RITUAL ASPECT OF POLITICAL COMMUNICATION: SEMIOTICS OF THE PRESIDENT’S INAUGURATION

Abstract
The article investigates the semiotic aspects of political communication. Identified symbolic components in the inaugural speeches and Ukrainian presidents are defined, during inauguration ceremony. We make lingual semiotic and stylistic analysis activities and inaugural speeches by Ukrainian Presidents L. Kuchma, V. Yushchenko, V. Yanukovych and P. Poroshenko. The article defines the characteristics of the inauguration as a political ritual. These characteristics are done on the basis of material of inaugurations of Ukrainian presidents. The features and the semantics of the inaugural speeches are analyzed in terms of semiotics of political discourse.
