RNA Silencing and Plant Viral Diseases
Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 8
Abstract
To reduce the losses caused by plant pathogens, plant biologists have adopted numerous methods to engineer resistant plants. Among them, RNA silencing-based resistance has been a powerful tool that has been used to engineer resistant crops during the last two decades. Virus-derived small interfering RNAs (vsiRNAs) are found in the infected host cells, indicating that the host RNA silencing machinery can target viral RNAs for destruction. With the development of high-throughput sequencing of vsiRNAs,recent genetic studies have shed light on the origin and composition of vsiRNAs and their potential functions in the regulation of gene expression. Here, we review the current understanding of the complex mechanisms of VSRs that have been revealed by recent studies.

Influence of humic acid on increase yield of plants and soil properties
Humic acids are heterogeneous, which include in the same macromolecule, hydrophilic acidic functional groups and hydrophobic groups. A distinction on the effects of HAs should be made between indirect and direct effect...
Assessment of genetic relationships of some cultivars of Asian pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) with some native pears of Northern Iran using SSR markers
New several genotypes are found in the forests of the eastern Guilan province that are morphologically more like the Asian pears and have also some agronomical important traits such as very large, high quality of fresh...
Influence of various commercial dietary salts as a mineral source supplementation on performance of broiler
The present study was carried out at SAU- Tandojam during, 2013 where, one hundred twenty (120) day-old Hubbard broiler were kept under study and divided in four groups (A, B, C and D). The treatments were: common salt...
Living condition of forest dwellers and their relationship with forest in Zagros
In most forest areas the living of people depends on forest and this value is significant in villages. There is a strong connection between plant societies and rural dwellers. Therefore, regarding to this value based o...
Determination of lead and Cadmium Contents in (oryza sativa) rice samples of agricultural areas in Gillan- Iran
The major source of Cadmium intake for rice eating countries in Asian countries like Iran is rice. Due to the accumulation of heavy metal compounds formed in plants for food could be an important factor in human toxici...
