Saccularcystofthelarynxisabenignsupraglotticlesion,filledwithmucus.Itformsfromthelaryngealsac,whichisasofttissuemassthatisanextensionofthelaryngealventricle.Duetotheextremerarity,thetrueprevalenceofthediseaseisunknown,althoughcongenitallaryngealcystshavebeenreportedtoaffect1in300,000newborns.Thegoldstandardfordiagnosingofsaccularlaryngealcystsislaryngoscopy.Treatmentofsaccularcystscanonlybedonesurgically,usingendoscopicorexternalaccess.Itisbelievedthatendoscopic CO2laser excision isthetreatmentofchoice
