СAUSATIVE UTTERANCES WITH SYNTACTICAL SYNONYMY (on the Material of French Fiction of XXth – XXIth Centuries)

Abstract

In this paper the causative utterances are defined as phenomenologically reconstructed in the language synonymic transformants of primary proposition in the functional-semantic macrofield of syntactical synonymy which are realized in the discourse in the form of contaminated co(n)textually preferential options formed according to the model: (se) faire + Inf. The author’s goal is to establish the typology of synonymic causative constructions-discourse innovations with direct and indirect causativity, to make the analysis of functional and structural peculiarities of these constructions and to identify and justify the co(n)textual impertinence of primary (linguistic) structure by the way of the method of inverse reconstruction (discourse → language). They distinguished the causative constructions with single (with non-pronominal predicate) and double (with reflexive pronominal predicate) referentiation with active and inactive actant of infinitive polyvalent implicate (with direct causativity) and non-implicate (with indirect causativity) structures which are actualized by the writers for the purpose to simplify structurally contact and distant co(n)texts or according to the strategies of author’s language game, to complicate the interpretation of information by the intra- and interphrastical implication of referents. They established that in the discourse innovations with indirect causativity the predicate faire performs the function of causative operator and of passivisator. The made analysis allows to make conclusion that the causative constructions are the one-basic compressed periphrasis of polypredicative subjunctive primary propositions that are realized in the discourse: 1) to unload syntactically the contact and the distant co(n)texts; 2) as an element of language game with insufficiency of expression for the complication of interpretation of discourse fragment and of the perception of author’s communicative intention.
