Selected problems in construction of granulators for plant materials. Part I
Journal Title: Journal of Research and Applications in Agricultural Engineering (ISSN 1642-686X) - Year 2018, Vol 63, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper presents an analysis of structural solutions for plant materials granulator working systems. For the considerations, the criterion of material uniform dosing and its distribution on the surface of the matrix in the granulator working system was adopted. The analysis shows that the working system "flat fixed die-rotating set of compacting rolls" and "annular rotary die–immovable set of compacting rolls" is the best solution ensuring the distribution of compacted material on the working surface of the die. This results in a stable load of the granulator drive system, including increased bearing life and reduced tribological wear of the die and compacting rolls. An innovative solution of the material dosing system was al-so presented.

Analysis of the possibility of obtaining thermal energy from combustion of selected cereal straw species
Wheat, corn and rapeseed straw can be used as a raw material for the production of biofuels used to generate heat energy. Due to the growing interest in renewable fuels, including straw, it is reasonable to test the ener...
Efficacy assessment of field trapping of the currant borer Synanthedon tipuliformis (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) using different lures with synthetic sex pheromone
Two-component blends of (2E,13Z)-2,13-octadecadienyl acetate (E2,Z13-18:Ac) and (3E,13Z)-3,13-octadecadienyl acetate (E3,Z13-18:Ac) used in pheromone dispenser were as attractive to males of Synanthedon tipuliformis as s...
Application of heat pumps in rapeseed oil production
The production of rapeseed oil requires a lot of energy. Before being pressed, seeds are conditioned, i.e. heated up to the process temperature for the whole mass. Then, as a result of pressing the extracted oil has a hi...
Variation in quantitative and qualitative alkaloid composition in Phalaris arundinacea (Poaceae)
Research of the identification and determination of alkaloid contents in the aboveground parts of Phalaris arundinacea (Poaceae) during various periods of the vegetation season was conducted. Analyses were performed usin...
