Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy: Actual Approaches
Journal Title: Nükleer Tıp Seminerleri - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Sentinel lymph node biopsy has entered the clinical routine in the nodal status assessment of early-stage cancers. The method has different application techniques and limitations according to the localization of the primary tumor. Recently, the developed hybrid imaging radiopharmaceuticals, single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography, and intraoperative imaging devices have significantly increased sentinel lymph node biopsy success by reducing these limitations. Randomized studies will further increase the acceptance of this technique in different clinical scenarios.
