SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ROLE OF PHYSICS IN HISTORY – POWERFUL MOTIVATION EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE

Abstract
The article considers the necessity of using such a motivational resource of the educational process as the students’ awareness of the role of physics in history. The lack of use of this resource in physics studies is noted. The analysis of the causes of the crisis of physics as an educational subject is analysed. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the abolition of physics as a separate educational subject in the classes of the humanitarian profi le of the senior school will lead to further worsening of the state of physical education. It is proved that when highlighting the value of physical knowledge in the life of man and society, it is necessary, fi rst of all, to focus students’ attention on the great discoveries and inventions that have changed the life of society and allowed humanity to rise a step higher in its development. It is hoped that the awareness of the prominent role of physics in history will aff ect the deep-seated world of a young person and will contribute to the formation of a new view of it in physics as a science and as a discipline.
