“SILENT AGONY OF MINERS IN WEST BENGAL: SEARCH FOR BIOMARKERS OF NEWER KINDS”
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 5
Abstract
Miners studied in West Bengal, are compelled to suffer from several kinds of occupational hazards. The dimensions of hazards vary from negligible to fatal status. Unfortunately hardly there is any anthropocentric EIA in mining areas as per Schedule-I of EIA Notification 1994. Results of a number of cross-sectional studies amongst different kinds of miners were found to be logistic enough to promote newer kind of Mining EIA assessment with greater anthropocentric significances.
