SOCIAL MEDIA ISNTRUMENTS IN ELECTION CAMPAGNING (BASED ON EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS)

Abstract

This article is dedicated to analysis of social media as an instrument of election campaigning for parties and political groups. The article provides the analysis of key characteristics of election campaigns by means of social media platforms as well as the key trends in European parties` political communication. The purpose of the article is to analyze the social media application in the election campaigns. Principles and methods of Politology, Mass Media and Communication Theory and Public Relations were used for the purposes of this research.
