Solidarumas ir politinė emancipacija pasipriešinimo kolonijiniam imperializmui perspektyvoje: Bolivijos atvejis
Journal Title: Tiltai - Year 2016, Vol 74, Issue 2
Abstract
The article investigates the importance of solidarity to Bolivian indigenous communities resistance movements during the times of Spanish colonialism, liberal republicanism and also neoliberal political- economical reforms. Traditional communal land ownership and decision making developed strong solidarity tights, which were the main resource to achieve freedom and equality. After the new international discourse of indigenous rights developed, many NGO’s and anthropologists came to Bolivia and impacted education of indigenous communities. This helped to expand the definition of solidarity by adding to it a class dimension. This emancipatory political solidarity empowered social movements to achieve victory in presidential elections of 2005.
