Some Aspects Regarding “Sense and Avoid” Requirements for UAV Integration in the National Air Space
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to show the importance of mission planning in a fully automatic flight and the critical role of implementing Sense & Avoid (S&A) procedures at different categories of UAVs. Modern operation of UAVs implies the capability to handle separation provision and collision avoidance in a way similar to the manned aircrafts. The main contributions are: the analysis of the importance of organizing a special course dedicated to the technical knowledge of the procedures for mission planning and utilization of UAVs; a critical analysis of the possibilities of integration S&A procedures for small UAVs and the perspective of obtaining low-cost solution, especially for emerging countries.

Verification of Checking of the Validity and Effectiveness of Damage
This paper presents a methodology for identifying some stress concentrators based on the modal analysis performed using MSC Patran and MSC Nastran programs. The influence of a beam crack on its own frequency is practical...
Safety management of formation flying in an aerobatic team
The article is focused on explaining the notion of safety from the aspect of generally applicable standards established by the ICAO. It describes the role of human factor played by the pilot´s personality in an aerobatic...
Continuous thrust tangential or perpendicular to the flight direction on a given transfer trajectory in planar Circular Restricted 3-Body Problem
This paper presents a systematic study for analytical determination of thrust acceleration magnitude on a given trajectory for a case where the thrust is tangential or perpendicular to the flight direction. The problem h...
Unified formulation for URANS and LES in DxUNSp code
The aim of this work is to find a unified and efficient implementation of a LES turbulence model in an existing URANS CFD code, initially based on unsteady RANS equations with a k-ε turbulence model. This code has the ca...
Dynamic study of the virtual prototype of the IAR-99 SOIM Aircraft
This paper contains a dynamic study of the IAR-99 SOIM aircraft using ADAMS, multibody dynamic solutions. First, the analysis of the whole airplane is envisaged and then the analysis of the flight control system and the...
