Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 4

Abstract

The present study designed to investigate the some hematological and oxidative stress parameters of patients with heart failure in a sample from Thi-Qar province, south of Iraq. The sample included (100) patients who were attending Al-Nassiriyah heart center during a period from December 2014 to March 2015, and (100) healthy men as a control group. The results obtained in the current study showed a significant decrease (p< 0.05) in hemoglobin level of HF patients as compared with the control group, while there was a significant increase in the mean of HCT and total WBCs count. Also, HF patients showed a significant increase (P < 0.05) in serum malondialdehyde (MDA) level compared with the control group. The serum albumin (Alb.) level showed a significant decreases (P < 0.05) compared with control group.
