SOME INCONSISTENCES OF MORE'S CONCEPT OF WAR AND PEACE

Abstract
The article presents the views of Thomas More on war and peace. It analyses the status of war in Utopia with regard to More's indication on peace as the law of nature. Two inconsistences of More's concept are found and called as the following: the peace inconsistency and the non-monetary exchange inconsistency. They are related to each other. The reality of both inconsistences is discussed in the light of the Christian and utilitarian ethics and political practice.
