СOMPETENCE-BASED APPROACH AS THE DIRECTION TO MODERNIZE PROFESSIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is devoted to a research of competence-based approach as one of the leading directions to modernize higher education in Ukraine. The stages of formation of competence-based approach in education are defined, views of scientists about a definition of the studied concept are generalized, the functions are determined, the interrelation of competence-based approach with person-oriented, activity and traditional approaches are established. Features of process to introduce competence-based approach in institutions of education and the main difficulties connected with it are defined and analyzed.
