Specialization Education Curriculum of Medical Biochemistry Department, Pamukkale University Faculty ff Medicine

Abstract
Objective: Specialty education is given in accordance with the course schedule distributed according to years in specialist education in medical biochemistry department of Pamukkale University. The Medical Specialization committee publishes the core curriculum of the Department of Medical Biochemistry Specialization Education as well as other major branches. In this study we aimed to compare our specialty curriculum with the core curriculum of Medical Biochemistry specialty education. Method: For this purpose, the contents of our specialist training curriculum were compared according to the core curriculum titles of Medical Biochemistry Specialization Education. When comparing, it was checked whether the topics of the core curriculum specified by the structured training method covered the course content in our curriculum. Results: Comparisons of subjects from the curriculum to clinical subjects were not fully met in our curricula of outcomes such as drug, toxic substance, alcohol and substance dependence and infertility. The topics of our curriculum were not covered in the topics of the curriculum in the topic of interventional competences, structured training methodology, and the screening principles and prenatal screening tests, drug, toxic substance, alcohol and addictive substance analysis and acute laboratory tests. Compared to the core curriculum of Medical Biochemistry Specialization Education, subject contents that are not included in our curriculum can be added to the curriculum contents of our curriculum in next year, and curriculum deficiencies can be completed by choosing seminar topics of specialist students from these titles. Our specialist students can also be involved in courses, symposia, and other academic activities that involve these topics. Conclusion: The core curriculum is important in determining the way in which training institutions offering clinical biochemistry specialization training will pursue their specialization training. Educational institutions' Medical Biochemistry Specialization Training is essential in terms of standardization of specialized training in updating the curriculum in accordance with the core curriculum.
