STATIC AND DYNAMIC PRESSURE EXERTED BY SILTY SOIL ONTO THE WORKING SURFACE OF A PLOUGHSHARE
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2012, Vol 246, Issue 6
Abstract
The values of soil pressure exerted onto the working surface of a ploughshare in its four points during ploughing loamy silt at two tillage speeds (0.355 and 1.955 m·s-1) were measured. It made possible, based on known Goriatchkin’s formula, the separation of the measured pressure from its components, i.e. the values of static and dynamic pressure. At working speed equal to 1.955 m·s-1, the highest value of soil pressure and its components occurred at the measuring point placed on the forepart of a ploughshare. In that point, the relative part of dynamic and static pressure in reference to total soil pressure was equal to 34% and 66%. At other measurement points, placed on the trapezoidal part of the ploughshare, the part of dynamic pressure was smaller and amounted to 24%, while its absolute value was many times smaller than the value in measuring point placed at the forepart of ploughshare.
