Abstract

This paper assesses the issue of providing statistical data focusing on the field of tourism. The focus is on the relationship between data providers (particularly Statistical Office in Prešov) and applicants of these data who address their application. The subject of this research is the analysis of these requirements based on multiple criteria (impact of seasonality in applications, the structure of applications depending on the group and the gender of applicants, the frequency of each area in requirements, the frequency of applications from the same applicant, circuit of data that were provided by the applicant, etc.) in the period 2011 - 2015. The aim is to identify changes based on a total of 1 426 applications submitted and within 402 applications in the field of tourism, that have occurred in the evaluated issue of the past five years, to outline trends and provide insights found to statistical office to improve communication with the public.
