Journal Title: Економіка. Фінанси. Право - Year 2019, Vol 4, Issue

Abstract

Introduction. Today, in unstable economic conditions, a significant and important segment of the country's development is the transport system, the stable functioning of which ensures the sustainable development of the economy and improves the living standards of the population. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the strategic directions of the development of the transport system of Ukraine in the context of the implementation of the national transport strategy. Results. Analyzing the dynamics of cargo transportation in Ukraine in 2014-2018 by such types of transport as: railway, road, sea, pipeline and aviation, we see a negative tendency of reduction of volumes of freight transportation by rail by 63.7 million tons (16.5%). In general, the analysis of the state of the transport system of Ukraine for 2014-2018 showed a decrease in the volumes of transportation of goods and passengers. Therefore, one of the main strategic directions of Ukraine's transport system development is the provision of high-quality and efficient transportation services, which will increase the volume of cargo and passenger transportation. In order to ensure high-quality and efficient transportation services, it is necessary to implement European standards for safe, environmentally friendly and energy efficient transport. Another strategic direction of Ukraine's transport system development is the increased competitiveness of transport infrastructure. Conclusion. The article substantiates the strategic directions of development of the transport system of Ukraine as a way of implementation of the national transport strategy. These strategic directions of development of the transport system correspond to the national transport strategy, which aims to create a modern, competitive, innovative and integrated into the international transport network of the national transport complex.
