Structural studies of partial meltings of casting surfaces made of cobalt alloy MAR-M509
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2009, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
The results of structural studies of partial meltings of casting surfaces of plates made of cobalt alloy MAR-M509 have been presented. The partial meltings were formed with argon or helium plasma beam generated in electric arc. Observations of microstructure revealed presence of phase and carbides. X-ray diffraction has shown phase , carbide types MC and M23C6 and scanty amount of hexagonal phase .

Interactions at the mould – modifying coating – molten nickel alloy interface
The study describes thermal-chemical interactions that take place in the molten nickel alloy-ceramic mould system, where the mould is either coated with a modifying coating („blue” mould) or is not („white” mould). The c...
Quality of carburizers and its influence on carburization process
In the papers issue of production the synthetic cast iron obtaining on the basis of only steel scrap and carburizing materials are presented. Natural graphite, synthetic graphite, anthracite, petroleum coke, foundry coke...
Effect of silicon on the structure and mechanical properties of high-vanadium cast iron
The results of microstructural examinations and mechanical tests carried out on Fe-C-V and Fe-C-V-Si alloys solidifying in volumetric mode, containing 1,38-1,83%C, 6,76-14,72%V and 1,05-3,69 Si, have been reported. The e...
Primary and secondary crystallization of modified hypoeutectic chromium cast iron
The paper presents investigations of crystallization of modified hypoeutectic wear resistant chromium cast iron which contains carbon about 2% and chromium on three levels (12%, 18% and 25%). Three substances were applie...
Ultralight magnesium-lithium alloys for plastic working
Various chemical compositions of ultralight magnesium-lithium alloys were examined and metallographic studies of these alloys, designed for further plastic working, were carried out. The preliminary results of mechanical...
