Study and prioritization of the factors impacting export development among Aras Free Zone firms based on Wood and Robertson Model

Abstract

This study intended to investigate and prioritize the factors impacting export development in Aras Free Zone. This study was a survey one methodologically, and it was an applied one in terms of objective. Population consisted of active firms in Aras free zone (N=337). Sample consisted of 180 firms based on Cochran formula which were selected using stratified random sampling. Research tool was a questionnaire consisting of 6 variables. T-test and Friedman test were used to analyze data through SPSS software. Prioritizing and determining of role of each factor impacting export development was conducted using expert choice and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) following recognizing factors impacting expert development in Aras free zone. According to results, all factors (political, economic, cultural, market potential, structural and legal) were impactful on expert development. Also, analytical hierarchical results showed that economic, political and market potential related to Aras free zone were considered the effective factors with priority coefficients 0.482, 0.248 and 0.131 respectively. Structural factor, cultural factor and legal factor with coefficients 0.053, 0.044 and 0.042 were in the next priorities respectively.
