STUDY OF ORGANIZING THE LINGUOMETHODOLOGICAL MONITORING AT THE UNIVERSITIES OF UKRAINE
Journal Title: Професіоналізм педагога: теоретичні й методичні аспекти - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
The article is devoted to the relevant problem in reforming the education – organizing the monitoring of the quality of higher education, in particular linguomethodological monitoring. The extended works by O. Avramenko, N. Baidatska, T. Lukina, O. Lyashenko, T. Khoruzhenko show the rapid progress of the national science in the field of educational measurements and monitoring of specialists’ professional training. Similarly, in the dissertations of N. Ostapenko, O. Semenoh, O. Kopus some aspects of monitoring of the prospective teachers’ professional linguomethodological competence are highlighted. The author conducted a study to find out the current state of the organizing monitoring of the linguomethodological competence of prospective teachers of the Ukrainian language in SHEE “Donbas State Pedagogical University”, National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Kirovograd State Pedagogical University named after V. Vynnychenko and Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, studying the level of students’ and teachers’ awareness of the essence and role of monitoring studies of future teachers’ linguomethodological competence. The results and conclusions of the empirical study are presented in the article. The author concluded that studying the experience of monitoring the education quality in four universities of Ukraine had shown that the work on monitoring organization is almost equally structured everywhere. In educational institutions, the functions of the monitoring centres are carried out in various ways by the scientific, educational, teaching and educational subdivisions, dean’s offices and departments. At the same time, there is no systemic monitoring of linguomethodological competence, since control is conducted in a scattered way and usually in line with the study of the general quality of education at the university. Complex control works, current, thematic and final control of the progress of the disciplines of the linguomethodological cycle, reports of departments on scientific and methodological activities, staff rating, etc. – all this represents non-interconnected types of control instead of a well-developed technology of monitoring the quality of the professional training of prospective teachers of the Ukrainian language.
