Study on New Smart Transformer Terminal Unit Based on ARM and GPRS Network
Journal Title: Elektronika - Year 2013, Vol 17, Issue 2
Abstract
Distribution transformer is one of the most important power equipments in distribution network, whose running state exercises a great influence on the stability of the network. Transformer Terminal Unit (TTU) is an effective device to monitor the running state of transformers in the distribution automation system. In this paper, we study a new smart TTU which uses ARM7 series chip as processor, equipped with ATT7022B based electric meter module and GPRS module for remote data transmission control. We focus on the corresponding hardware, software design and the measurement principle of harmonics of TTU. The new TTU can measure the electric parameters of the distribution transformer precisely. Taking advantage of the powerful ARM processor, it can analyze harmonic of the power line effectively. Due to the always-on-line feature of GPRS, TTU can achieve reliable communication with the remote terminal and the master station. Compared with other similar units, the new unit outperforms in terms of real-time, precision and reliability, which can fully meet with the high-speed development of distribution automation system.

CFOA-Based Fractional Order PIλDδ Controller
Conventional Current Feedback Operational Amplifier (CFOA) is not current controllable or not electronically controllable. It is thus of interest to add a current mirror into the CFOA in order to make it current controll...
Design of a 1 DOF MEMS motion stage for a parallel plane geometry rheometer
Rotational rheometers are used to measure paste properties, but the test would take too long to be useful for quality control (QC) on the job site. In this paper, a new type of rheometer is proposed based on a one degree...
Design and Implementation of a Novel Directional Coupler for UHF RFID Reader
The directional coupler is applied to isolating RX from TX because of low cost and simplicity compared to the circulator in the radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader. Because of unequal phase velocity between odd...
Digital Controller Development Methodology Based on Real-Time Simulations with LabVIEW FPGA Hardware-Software Toolset
In this paper, we exemplify the use of NI Lab-VIEW FPGA as a rapid prototyping environment for digital controllers. In our power electronics laboratory, it has been successfully employed in the development, debugging, an...
Modular Environment for Development and Characterization of Tunable Energy Harvesting Systems
This paper presents the design and development process for an electromagnetic self-tuned vibrational energy harvester prototype. Most state-of-the-art publications present non-tunable or manually tunable vibrational ener...
