Study on the Current Status and Influencing Factors of Ethical Behavior in Clinical Nursing

Journal Title: Medicine and Philosophy - Year 2025, Vol 46, Issue 1

Abstract

A survey was conducted among 270 clinical nurses at a public hospital in Jinan using the general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Nursing Ethical Behavior Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire, and the Nurse Professional Identity Scale. The results showed that the total score of the Nursing Ethical Behavior Questionnaire for clinical nurses was (89.25±13.25). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that moral sensitivity and professional identity were significant influencing factors of ethical behavior in clinical nursing (P<0.01). Professional identity partially mediated the relationship between moral sensitivity and ethical behavior, with a mediation effect size of 21.09%. The ethical behavior of clinical nurses was found to be at a moderate level, indicating room for significant improvement. Nursing managers can enhance ethical behavior in nursing by improving nurses' moral sensitivity and professional identity.
