Study on transient characteristics of centrifugal pump<br /> during starting period<br />

Abstract
In order to research the transient explicit performance and transient flow of the centrifugal pump during starting period, this paper introduces the transient performance test, the numerical simulation of transient flow and explicit performance. The experimental method of the transient performance and numerical simulation method of inner flow are present. The results show that the head and flow rate increase with the rotational speed. When the start time is shorter, the impact head is obvious. The method of generalized equation is used to predict the explicit characteristics of the centrifugal pump during starting period. The numerical simulation model of three-dimensional transient flow is established by dynamic mesh method and sliding mesh method, and LES simulation is used to describe the turbulent flow. The numerical results compared with the experimental results achieve better consistency, which verify the feasibility of three-dimensional transient flow numerations of the centrifugal pump during starting period.
