Supported Employment – Passage from Sheltered Workshops to Firms on an Open Labor Market

Abstract
Part one: The main terms connected with supported employment processes: 1. The reversion of a traditional sequence of actions „first to train, then to employ” to a new one: „first to employ, then to train to concrete work position”. 2. Five stages of supported employment. 3. The role of a job coach as a natural support at a work place. Part two: Sheltered Workshops as a form of rehabilitation of disabled persons: 1. The place of sheltered workshops in institutional system of support of disabled persons. 2. The reason of placing a person in a sheltered workshop. 3. Attempts of employing attendants of sheltered workshops on an open labor market – chosen results of investigations. Part three: Good practices in a job career of sheltered workshops leavers: 1. Activities of NGO-s on national level. 2. Activities of NGO-s on local level on protected labor market. 3. Examples of business entities employing intellectually disabled persons on an open labor market.
