Sustainable Oriented Innovations (SOI) – innowacje dla trwałego rozwoju

Abstract
The goal of this study is to provide insights on implementing sustainability into corporate innovation activity. Firstly the idea of transferring sustainable development into microeconomic perspective is presented. The above concept is launched in business world through corporate social responsibility and eco-innovations. The most advanced innovators introduce sustainable oriented innovations (SOI) which covers not only economic aspects but social and ecological as well. The practical implementation of above ideas is hampered by several barriers which are identified through review of literature. Using extensive data of IBEX 35 firms covering the years 2010-2013 only 5 companies were selected as these which implemented sustainable oriented innovations. Later, profound analysis of its SOI including its economic, social and ecological impact is provided. In conclusion practical implementation of SOI have undisputable benefits for company, society and natural environment.
