SWOT-АНАЛІЗ МИРОТВОРЧОЇ ДІЯЛЬНОСТІ УКРАЇНИ У КОНТЕКСТІ СУЧАСНИХ ВИКЛИКІВ МІЖНАРОДНІЙ ТА НАЦІОНАЛЬНІЙ БЕЗПЕЦІ

Abstract
Досліджено специфіку миротворчої діяльності України на сучасному етапі із врахуванням подій на Сході України. Виокремлено загальні переваги та недоліки, а також можливі перспективи та загрози подальшої участі України у діяльності з підтримання міжнародного миру і безпеки та розроблено оптимальний варіант збереження участі України у миротворчій діяльності і водночас залучення українських миротворців до врегулювання конфлікту на Сході України. It is investigated the specificity of Ukraine peacekeeping activity under present-day conditions taking into account the events in the Eastern Ukraine. It is determined the overall advantages and disadvantages along with possible prospects and threats to the further Ukraine’s participation in the maintenance of international peace and security. It is also suggested the optimum way for the continuation of Ukraine’s participation in the peacemaking activity and simultaneously for the involvement of Ukrainian peacekeepers to the conflict settlement in the Eastern Ukraine. It is accentuated that Ukraine’s participation in the peacekeeping activity is an essential direction of its foreign policy and facilitates the implementation of its national interests, can strengthen its international prestige. The Ukraine’s peacekeeping activities have many advantages, in particular: the growth of Ukraine’s prestige in the global arena and among the UN member states; the arrangement of a favorable environment for intensification of cooperation with many countries of the world; the significant financial benefits; the gain of professional peacekeepers’ experience etc. The negative aspect of such activity is the existence of a number of disadvantages and threats that have predetermined the formation of positions about inexpediency of participation of our country in such activities. Most of the shortcomings of Ukraine’s participation in peacekeeping operations are concerned to the issues of legislative framework improving, logistical support, training of troops and accordance of the social guarantees to the ex-peacekeepers etc. Analyzing the possible prospects of further Ukraine’s participation in the peacekeeping activity in the conditions of unresolved conflict in the Eastern Ukraine it is emphasized on the option of preserving of Ukraine’s participation in peacekeeping activity and at the same time involving of Ukrainian peacekeepers to the conflict settlement in the Eastern Ukraine. It is necessary to use the experience of former peacekeepers as well as attract some former officers of peacekeeping contingents, who exerted leadership of peacekeeping contingents during the peacekeeping operations in the different countries.
