Synthesis of historicism and modernism (novel «Resettlement»: the artistic scope of historical thinking)

Abstract
The article analyzes the problem of the study of historicism and modernism on the basis of the novel «Resettlement» by the famous Azerbaijani prose writer M. Suleymanly. It is emphasized that the author, without using the traditional way of the historical novel, created the original work on a historical theme. In this novel there is no historical personality, no dominant force, or ideology. Here the conflicting sides are the Garakelle and Ganygushagy tribes. The writer describes the three-hundred-year-old enmity of two tribes, is based on the highest moral values.M. Suleymanly pays much attention to moral aspects. In the novel, the main role is played by the attitude and subconsciousof the author and historical material.The novel «Resettlement» occupies a worthy place in the Azerbaijani prose of the XX century.
