Tasks and the main stages of the pharmaceutical commodity science development

Abstract
Aim. To analyze the stages of the development of pharmaceutical commodity science and determine the place and role of this discipline in forming modern pharmacists. Materials and methods. Scientific publications, as well as systematic, logical, analytical, retrospective methods were used. Results. The aim, tasks and the main stages of formation of modern pharmaceutical commodity science, which systematically studies the products of the pharmacy assortment at all stages of the life cycle, have been analyzed. It has been shown that pharmaceutical commodity science is a scientific discipline that systematizes and generalizes all the information about a product, studies methods of knowing their consumer value, regularities of the assortment formation and quality requirements. In order to perform the professional duties properly, a modern pharmacist must have theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of pharmaceutical commodity science. Conclusions. It has been determined that pharmaceutical commodity science is intended to provide a modern pharmacist with full knowledge and skills on the issues of classification and coding of commodities, commodity analysis, commodity indices, packaging, labeling, storage conditions and transportation of goods of the pharmacy assortment, etc.
