Technical analysis of the assessment of the quality of assets in the banking system of Bulgaria in 2015

Abstract
With the adoption of amendments to the Law on Restoration and Restructuring of Credit Institutions and Investment Intermediaries and the Law on Credit Institutions, Bulgarian National Bank conducted an assessment of the banking system in the country. It included asset quality audit (AQA) and a stress test (Stability tests) of the banks. The Bulgarian National Bank held AQA and ST in cooperation with an independent external consultant elected by tender procedure. The article aims to analyze the technical deficiencies during the overall review of the banking system.
