O. Borodina, N. Scherback. Theoretical and practical measures to crackdown on patent trolling. The using of intellectual property is one of the most common types of business activity in modern conditions, when innovations specifically dictate trends in the development of the world market. Intangible assets do not require large investments, they are easy to store and they do not need transportation. The development of intangible assets is quite urgent issue for Ukraine. The reason for this, is existing scientific base, the need for raising the level of investment attractiveness and improve the country's economic growth. Whereas together with an interest in the growth of scientific and technical potential, cases of dishonest use of intellectual property have become more frequent, with the purpose of profit at others' expense. Piracy, raiding and patent trolling are becoming increasingly popular phenomena, both in the world and in Ukraine. Patent trolling - is an activity that is a tool for building a passive business model, while investing in obtaining patents without even if they do not do this with inventive or other productive activities, it becomes possible to make profit with other's organizational and intellectual achievements. The article analyzes the aspects of unfair practices of business activity in the field of patenting intellectual property in the form of patent trolling, as well as theoretical and practical methods of counteraction.
