Tesauro de acervo espÃrita: uma revisão de tesauro constituÃdo

Abstract
Thesaurus is an indexing language aiming to normalize terms in order to index and retrieval information. The increase of the amount of readers and also of specialized collection in libraries on Spiritism, created the need of specific treatment of the subject. This research presents the development of a thesaurus for the spirtist collection based on another tool created by Eliane ColepÃcolo from the Spitist Society Goodness’ Workers, in which we include or exclude some terms. In order to complement the tool, some sources were consulted: Spiritist literature, glossaries, dictionaries. Controlled vocabularies, indexes and DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification), to improve the information retrieval in these theme. Thus, we present the literature review on Spiritism and its History, its spread in Brazil and an overview of some libraries from Spiritist Centers. We hope this tool can be suitable for students, exhibitors, speakers and visitors of spiritist institutions. Lastly, we present the thesaurus in three formats: graphic, systematic and alphabetical formats.
