The Activity of Antioxidant and Anaerobic Glycolysis Enzymes Under Thermal Gradient Exposure in Palearctic Species Lymnaea stagnalis
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2013, Vol 9, Issue 4
Abstract
The aim of present study was the evaluation of antioxidant (peroxidase, catalase, glutathione S transferase) and anaerobic glycolysis (lactate dehydrogenase) enzymes activity under thermal gradient in Palearctic species Lymnaea stagnalis (Linnaeus,1758). Activity of peroxidase, lactate dehydrogenase and glutathione S-transferase elevated in L. stagnalis under thermal exposure. Opposite to this, activity of catalase decreased in same condition. We demonstrated antioxidant nd anaerobic glycolysis enzymes participation in adaptation mechanisms to environmental hanges in gastropods L. stagnalis.

Changes in Composition of Vacuolar Membrane Lipid Fatty Acids Under Osmotic Stress
The investigation of influence of different types of osmotic stress (hypo- and hyperosmotic) on the composition of vacuolar membrane lipid fatty acids of red beet root (Beta vulgaris L., variety Bordeaux) was cond...
Interactive effects of rice residue and water stress on growth and metabolism of wheat seedlings
In the present study effects of rice residue with and without water stress were studied on Triticum aestivum L. cv. Shatabadi. The mixture of residue and garden soil in 1:1 ratio was considered as 50% (R[sub]1[/su...
AGROBACTERIAL TRANSFORMATION AS COMPLEX BIOTICAL STRESSING FACTOR
Consequences of agrobacterial transformation have resemblance with plant stress response. So agrobacterial transformation is being considered as a complex multilevel biotic stress factor including reactions on the wound...
The role of mitochondria in response of wild grass Elymus sibiricus L. seedlings to temperature stress, water deficiency and hydrogen peroxide exposure
The relationship between energetic parameters and content of stress proteins (alternative oxidase, uncoupling protein and HSP70) in wild grass Elymus sibiricus mitochondria during different stress exposure (cold h...
Evaluation of Oxidative Stress in Sheep Affected with Peste des petits ruminants
The aim of the investigation was to evaluate oxidative stress in sheep affected with peste des petits ruminants (PPR). Oxidative stress in the affected sheep was evaluated by determining various serum biomarkers viz. vi...
