THE ANALYSIS OF CHANGE MANAGEMENT METHODS AT CONTEMPORARY ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The main methods and approaches to change management have been studied through Ukrainian and foreign scientific sources. The current change management methods have been analyzed. The approaches to change management have been classified and characterized in detail. As a result, the current approaches and methods of change management at an enterprise have been generalized and systematized in a classification tree. The study of scientific papers has revealed the terms of a change management model and change management methods. The analysis carried out has shown that the models of studying change management are more generic so that the focus has been put on the methods of study, which provide definite and detailed description of the way the changes at a contemporary enterprise should be made. A number of recommendations on change management has been given. As a result, the change management methods can be classified according to the three classification features such as human and culture oriented methods, task and technology oriented ones, and structure and strategy oriented methods. In their turn, the methods, which are oriented at humans and culture, can be classified as the discussion of the organizational diagnosis, team building, process consultation, the Employment Standards Program, and the high responsibility and high result system. The methods, which are oriented at tasks and technologies, are subdivided into work project administration, socio-technical systems, quality test teams, business process reengineering, and general quality management. The methods, which are oriented at the structure and strategies, can be of the following types: adaptive organizational structures and strategic changes. As a result, the author has suggested a generalized classification of change management methods, which is more suitable for implementing at a contemporary enterprise. These methods are relevant to one of the three classification features. A brief and clear characteristic has been given to each of the methods.
